IKO Kiteboarder card will be issued on your ability after your course.
Most
students will pass level 1 and part of level 2 in the first 6 hours of
training. Usually first water starts.. IKO Level 2G or 2H.
To complete all 3 IKO levels will take a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of dedication.
WHAT TO CHOOSE.?
We offer different courses for all different level of kitboarding. If you have never done this before we recommend the 2 day 6 hours to get the most time flying, learning by doing. You will pick it up in 30 mins on how to fly. To easy.
LESS STUDENTS = MORE FLYING TIME FOR YOU.
Ask the others schools how many students in the group 3 or 4 is FAR too many. You will be limited on your time to fly and will not learn as much as the AKAs 1 on 1 lessons.
IKO V's PASA V's NO INSTRUCTORS.
IKO are a Kite specific group dedicated to kiteboarders. With difficult instruction training programes and detailed manuals IKO pave the way for the rest of the world to follow there ideas on safety and beach access. IKO are the only group that also provides you with a kite ID card on completion on the course.
Other shops will only sell you specific brands they buy in bulk and sell to you for top money, they are usually not the best brands on the market but they will trick you with saving on your lesson price towards a kite package deal and they are still making twice the lesson cost on inadequate equipment. They win both ways.
The AKA stirve to meet every budget requirement from the $200 E Bay kite to a new expensive $2000 kite from a recommended source letting you know what is good and what is not so good..
Test and demo all equipment before you buy is the best advice we can give, if the shop will not let you test it there must be a reason for that usually a bad product.. We have several brand to test fly just show your IKO card and Insurance..

If you have been quoted a price from one of the other local kite companies please let us know and we can give you the run-down on there operation and if the are insured and qualified to teach kiteboarding. Also ask what instructor will be teaching you and do you get a certification card when you finish. All will say NO..
We have 6 local shops in SoCal. Some are owned by non-kiters teaching people how to kite or others by unqualified old & young people who think they can teach kiteboarding. Others who charge through the roof thinking you will get the best service and others who teach it on the weekend for pocket money. Who can you trust. The AKA thats who.!!
Rest assured the AKA is qualified, insured and permited to teach kiteboarding, the correct way. We have several students each year that take there first lessons with other kite shops and after they buy the kite and board are tossed out with the masses still not knowing how to kite. When they come to the AKA they do not know the basics to safe flying or there own kites safety systems. Then thank there instructor for proper tuition and instruction.
The proof is in the pudding.
Kitesurfers teaching kitesurfers not Kite kooks..
