Have  you ever seen the big bright kites down at the beach? Seem people having the times of there lives riding the waves and wondered "What is that?" and "How can i do that?". You have just witnessed the extreme sport of Kitesurfing.

Kitesurfing or Kiteboarding? It does not matter. They are one in the same. An explosive, exciting and intense extreme sport that can cause serious injury to the pilot/driver and others around you if attempted without the appropriate training. This is why the A.K.A. was formed. To eliminate the risk and dangers posed with our amazing sport and to accentuate the fun.

The A.K.A. strives to be the best in class Kitesurf Instruction. Our detailed training process will give you an excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of Kitesurfing, enabling all our students to be able to take flight independently, safely and competently.

All A.K.A. Students will receive an International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) certification card detailing the level achieved during the course. This is an international recognized standard for kite flying and safety. Typically you will not be able to hire/rent equipment due to safety concerns. However the IKO Kiteboarder card will allow the card holder to (in certain countries) to hire equipment, ride a specific location and/or prove your Kitesurf ability to the Life Guards.

Our second location (USA Summer only) is in Orange County Southern California. Beaches used for lessons, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach and Belmont Shore Longbeach. 90% of the Lessons will be at Huntington Beach, Stingray free/clean water. The A.K.A. is HB Life Guard approved school and the only school permitted to teach Kitesurfing at HB. (onhold for the 2011 season)

All A.K.A. Instructors have completed the IKO accredited course. This gives peace of mind to all our students - knowing our Instructors have been specially trained to teach all aspects of Safety, Equipment, Power Kite Flying, Board Riding, Wind/Weather and Choice of Location.

The aim of the A.K.A. is to offer the opportunity, (to the young or not so young), to learn to fly kites up to 15 meter in size with total control and safety. The A.K.A. will provide all the Kites, Board, harness, helmets and lifevests. All the equipment you need to bring is your wetsuit.
